Based just outside York. Education programmes at Murton Park are designed to provide realistic
experiences for adults and children both on site and in schools.
Murton Park now offers a Celtic Settlement, a Roman Fort, a Dark Age Village, Tudor Experience, the Home Front Experience and Farming Museum all of which are used as large classrooms.
Their interpretative staff cover a range of time periods from Romans to WWII all of which are linked closely to the National Curriculum.
Using the ancient philosophy
'I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand'
, the aim is to enable children to better understand the everyday lives of their ancestors
