Science, history, literacy, art, citizenship
Located in the leafy surrounds of Weston Park, close to the University of Sheffield and opposite Sheffield Children's Hospital, the museum is just one mile from Sheffield city centre.
At Weston Park you can explore the history of Sheffield and its natural history, discover life in the Arctic, gaze at our collection of treasures and take a fresh look at art. The city's amazing collections of beautiful, varied and unusual treasures are brought to life by fascinating histories, incredible facts and hands-on interactives.
Children and adults will love the animated displays,
specially designed to delight even our littlest explorers. From Egyptian Mummies, to a traditional butcher's shop. From Snowy the polar bear, to living ants and bees.
Fun-filled, creative activities are available daily for school groups during term time and for families during school holidays. The bright café serves fresh and tasty refreshments throughout the day. All this, combined with regularly changing exhibitions and displays, means there are plenty of reasons to return time after time.

Belonging: Coming Home,
Yemeni community project October 2008 – March 2009. An exciting new project that involves the Yemeni community in creating a new long-term display for Weston Park Museum. People from the community will work with Museums Sheffield staff to explore what
means for Yemenis. The display in the Museum’s popular
Sheffield Life and Times
gallery will draw on the community’s photographs, objects, music and stories to share fascinating insights into Yemeni cultural identity, traditional and modern, in Yemen and in the UK.
